Bordeaux

The position of project manger for MICROCARD-2 is now officially open! Applications can be sent until October 5, 2025, but don't wait because we will evaluate applications as they arrive.

The position is at Université de Bordeaux, a dynamic research university, responsible and attentive to the well-being of its staff. More specifically, our project manager will join Liryc, one of the six first university-hospital institutes (IHU) created in France in 2011. This institute is specialized in the study of heart rhythm diseases. The IHU have been the pioneers of an original innovation method combining fundamental and clinical research, training and development in specific health fields. Their ambition is to invent the health of tomorrow and more quickly disseminate biomedical innovations towards patients and the economic fabric.

main activities

Your job involves coordinating the administrative and financial aspects of the project, as well as directing the public communication of the project through dedicated digital media.

Coordination of the consortium of partners & monitoring of the implementation of project activities

  • You follow the implementation of the project with the scientific coordinator and the administrative teams
  • You ensure the proper flow of information and communication within the consortium
  • You are the reference person interfacing with the European Commission
  • You organize consortium meetings according to the rules established in the project agreement: general assembly, executive board, project monitoring committee
  • You alert on the project’s drifts and propose solutions
  • You carry out the communication and dissemination of the project and come to support the organization of project meetings and summer schools
  • Depending on your experience, you could participate in the drafting of deliverables related to project management and communication

Coordination of administrative and financial aspects

  • You follow contractual and legal aspects of the project: grant agreement, consortium agreement and bilateral agreements with partners, amendment(s), financial regulation, in connection with the relevant university services
  • You ensure compliance with the obligations described in the grant agreement and consortium agreement
  • You manage and follow the funding budget of the allocated grant and coordinate the preparation of financial reports for the entire consortium: explanation of rules, compilation of data, verification, monitoring of grant consumption (for the consortium and each partner)
  • You contribute to the preparation of activity reports on the entire consortium and support for the scientific coordinator

your skills

  • Holder of a Master’s degree in Management of international projects (or equivalent), you ideally have a previous course in science or an appetence for the research subject. A first experience in European project management or in the university research system is appreciated.
  • You are curious, organized and know how to take initiatives
  • You show very good interpersonal and diplomatic skills
  • You are proficient in project management and tracking tools (Excel, PowerPoint appreciated)
  • Very comfortable in English, you know how to lead meetings, write materials (level C1/B2)
  • You like to work in a team while being autonomous in your activities

Based in Pessac - access tram B (stop "France Alouette"), train, bus, bike. The IHU Liryc is located on a hospital campus, close to the clinical teams, in a park with trees. It is located 8 km from the city center of Bordeaux and 60 km from the Atlantic coast.

  • We offer a 12-month fixed-term contract, which can be full-time or at 80%
  • gross salary from 2250€ to 2400€ according to the university’s grid

recruitment process

Applications are reviewed as they arrive. Candidates selected for an interview will be contacted by the Recruitment Officer for a first pre-qualification phone conversation. An interview with the supervisor will then be organised by videoconference.
